WITH CHARLIE DARK / ALEX NUT / FLOATING POINTS / FATIMA / FUNKINEVEN.
a who’s who.

in which case we’ll celebrate them here too.
trying to take this to the masses (our 89 loyal disciples).
So I bought the Aloe Blacc album before the Bilal album.
Made the executive decision that it would be easier to get into at my desk than any of Bilal’s soundscapes.
Possibly swayed by some of the words above. But either way, the decision proved to be the right one -
simple. cohesive. feel better soul music.
deserving of all the praise thats sure to come his way. .
starting with London Jazz Cafe on the 19th of next month.
You never know, maybe I’ll leave my job and make records like this
or maybe i’ll just fade away into middle aged obscurity behind a pile of paperwork and ill fitting suit.
I’ll have to be honest – I love Hip-Hop.
There aren’t too many artistes that get the taste buds bubbling, heart palpitating or hairs standing on the back of the neck.
Only to start dancing.
My boy Blu makes my hairs dance. The dude is just too soulful.
I was happy when HerFavouriteColourWasBlu(e) was re-released just because it was so tight and everyone loved it.
And now I’m even happier. New album edges closer and closer – The GODleeBarnesLP.
Here’s a single and video to make your hairs dance.
PS – You gotta love the Will Ferrell/Old School sample.
(watch the various pronounciations. . . )
‘Extra Time‘ is for peak time.
Although I probably don’t go out enough to know what is playable at peak time these days.
Things might have moved on to a point where this is your headphones in, green tea (cultured), home listening track.
set me straight please . . . ?
… but either way, its another 12″ from ‘A Made Up Sound’ quality stamped by me.
even if memory tells me its not as big as this

Ventfury on it again.
CrookedTounges bbq + Alex Nut / Mystro gig. A weekends work -
I know i’m in love with London but I think I’m more in love with the way he captures it . . .
beats that both maintain the hiphop sensibility and go somewhere different.
not an easy thing to do by any means. .
judging by the amount of weakness i’ve had to sit through since this ‘beats thing’ went vogue.
but this is fresh as a daisy.
Letherette go forth . . .
Hotep Records / early october
& be sure to bump this in the meantime – BTS Radio Beat Showcase 003.
