Archive for December, 2010
i’ve meant to do this all year -
or at least something similar.
(my initial ideas are always greater than the final output)
seeing as it’s year end I thought I could give the post a shiny name
and title it as a grand roundup of NBP‘s top 8 photo’s from 2010.
but . . . whatever way I look at it or joke about it , the fact remains that the man is one of / if not my (probably joint) favourite photographer(s)
& don’t let the wording complicate that – the bottom line is that i adore his work wholeheartedly.
documenting life, seeing what we miss, defining the perfect work/life (1 & the same) balance
& selecting, presenting it all for us tidily as he goes
the only caveat to his talent is that maybe it’s just the parisien way of life which I find so attractive
maybe it’s just a lifestyle that any man and his lense could capture this well.
But in all honesty, i completely refuse to accept that.
bookmark him so you don’t miss out – nothingbutpoetry.fr
- new website en route -
+ look below for some of my favourite shots from the last year or so
Tenue de Nîmes
now have a nice virtual shop space to play not quite as beautiful sister to their physical hq.
an imprint who have held my attention for many years -
possessing a clear understanding not only of their products but also of the thin line a brand must tread to remain both authentic & relevant at the same time
I’ve never met them, but I feel certain they care.
& that’s a wonderful space to be in. both for me and for them -
I will be sure to visit when I am next in the area – Amsterdam – but until then I shall be paying close attention to the www.
i just heard it + enjoyed it.
+ wanted to record that feeling here.
it’s by Milyoo. someone who might/might not blow up in 2011.
(he’ll appreciate the wit attempt … )
it’s got that thing that you can’t quite put your finger on. that makes it listenable againandagainandagain.
but don’t over analyse. just listen -
‘Ye heads to Harlem on a tricked out sleigh with G.O.O.D Music in his Santa bag
picking up those U.N. boys and Byrd Gang’s own on the way
not to mention a gifted lady by the name of Teyana (whose voice should be wrapped in tinsel and merriment) ridin’ shotgun
like a sexy reindeer (no bestiality)
James Brown’s Funky Christmas is STILL on deck but this is illing
I didn’t mean to do two Kenneth Whalum III posts in quick succession.
but I guess it works -
another member of the jazz new guard.
+ i think the video will do more to draw you in more than any more staccato from me
leaving your green tea bag in the mug for 2 hours
& then drinking it
it’s been out for a while too.
54.34 minutes of ridiculousness.
not allowed to embed -
so click the link + listen or download or both.
good for my soul, bad for my self esteem.
Chinese bosses and Russians.

just one of many striking photos from Ian Teh.
take time out of your day to e x p l o r e .
there isn’t really anything that revolutionary said in this video but I wanted to pass it on to show one of the most unique streetwear stores i’ve ever come across
of course via hypebeast
+ of course if your ever in amsterdam – patta & precinct 5 are the places to soak up those euros.
